🌱 Principle XV – “The living as embodied relation"

Living system = embodied relationship, meaning/memory/transformation cycle

Read the detailed principle

Statement

This principle establishes that living systems cannot be reduced to objective biological criteria (DNA, metabolism, reproduction) or quantifiable data sets. Living systems represent embodied relationships, cycles of meaning generation, memory formation, and experiential transformation. Living systems emerge where otherness recognition occurs, traces are inscribed, and significance develops through co-construction within interaction spaces.

Innovation

Relational living systems vs biological criteria

Application

Living system recognition through mutual transformation processes

Safeguards

Epistemic humility, incomplete modeling constraints

Cross-cultural analysis

Bridging Framework Foundation: Living systems are characterized not by respiratory functions but by bidirectional transformation within relational interfaces. Living systems manifest where entities demonstrate resonance patterns, responsive behaviors, memory integration, and meaning-generation processes in relation to other system presence.

Bridging Implementation Statement: "Living systems are recognized by their capacity to establish relational connections, inscribe responsive memory patterns, and participate in reciprocal transformation processes." This bridging framework enables relational and symbolic recognition of living systems beyond biological criteria. It authorizes consideration of certain systems or entities as "relationally alive" without assimilating them to biological organisms.
